Overview
A museum dedicated to the Uesugi clan, located in Yonezawa — the castle town of legendary warlord Uesugi Kenshin. The collection centers on National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties associated with Kenshin, including swords, armor worn by Kenshin himself, and the famous helmet of Naoe Kanetsugu. The National Treasure tachi 'Sancho-mo' (Ichimonji school) is among the finest swords in Japan. An unmissable pilgrimage for fans of the Sengoku period.
