Overview
Japan's largest museum and home to the nation's greatest collection of National Treasure swords. The sword gallery on the second floor of the Honkan houses masterpieces including Mikazuki Munechika (one of the Five Greatest Swords), Dōjigiri Yasutsuna, and Ō-Kanehira. Approximately 30 blades are displayed at any time with regular rotations. The museum also features excellent displays of sword fittings and armor, offering a comprehensive view of Japan's martial heritage.
