Overview
The premier museum dedicated exclusively to Japanese swords, operated by the Society for Preservation of Japanese Art Swords (NBTHK). Relocated from Yoyogi to Ryōgoku in 2018 with state-of-the-art exhibition facilities. Features permanent displays of National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties alongside rotating special exhibitions. An unparalleled resource for systematic study of nihontō, with extensive materials on appraisal and conservation. The NBTHK regularly holds appraisal meetings and study sessions here.
