Overview
The treasure hall of Kumano Hayatama Taisha, one of the Kumano Sanzan (Three Grand Shrines) designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites. The collection includes National Treasure ancient swords from the Nara period — notably the gold and silver-mounted ring-pommel tachi — along with Important Cultural Property dedicated swords from medieval warrior-nobles. A profound experience of the intersection of Japanese swords and ancient Shinto faith, set amid the sacred landscapes of the Kumano region.
