Taima

Description

Representative smiths of the Taima school, one of the five major Yamato schools. Active in Yamato province (present-day Nara), their masame-hada jigane with suguha hamon characterizes the Yamato tradition. Closely tied to temples, they produced practical swords for warrior monks.
