Suwa Taisha Treasure Hall
概要
The treasure hall of Suwa Taisha, one of Japan's oldest shrines dedicated to Takeminakata-no-kami, a deity of martial valor and hunting. The collection features Important Cultural Property swords, naginata, and armor dedicated by Sengoku-period warlords including Takeda Shingen. Suwa Taisha was revered by samurai throughout history as a guardian of military power, and its votive sword collection is among the finest in Nagano Prefecture. Famous also for the Onbashira Festival held every seven years.
