松本城
Matsumoto Castle
概要
One of Japan's five National Treasure castles, featuring the oldest surviving castle tower complex. The interior museum holds Japan's largest collection of matchlock firearms (approximately 400 pieces) alongside swords, spears, and armor of successive castle lords. The striking black-lacquered tower against the backdrop of the Northern Japan Alps is one of Japan's most celebrated landscapes. The adjacent Matsumoto City Museum complements the castle exhibits with additional sword and artifact displays.
