Seikadō Bunko Art Museum
概要
The Seikadō Bunko Art Museum houses the extraordinary private collection assembled by Iwasaki Yanosuke and Iwasaki Koyata of the Mitsubishi founding family. Its roughly 20,000 objects include seven National Treasures and 84 Important Cultural Properties, spanning ceramics, swords, textiles, paintings, lacquerware, and metalwork. The collection is world-famous for the 'Inaba Tenmoku' — one of only three surviving yohen tenmoku tea bowls in existence — but its sword collection is equally distinguished, encompassing important tachi and tantō from the Heian through Muromachi periods representing all major traditions. Relocated from Setagaya to the landmark Meiji Seimei-kan building in Marunouchi in 2022, the museum is now easily accessible in the heart of Tokyo.
