Eisei Bunko Museum
概要
A museum housing the art and historical materials handed down through the Hosokawa family, former lords of Kumamoto domain. The sword collection features masterpieces assembled by successive Hosokawa lords, including the National Treasure tachi by Bungo-no-Kuni Yukihira and the famous Kasen Kanesada by Izumi-no-Kami Kanesada. The former Hosokawa marquis residence on the tranquil Mejirodai hilltop is itself a highlight. Former Prime Minister Hosokawa Morihiro serves as director.
