致道博物館
Chido Museum
Présentation
Founded on the collection of the Sakai clan, lords of the Shonai domain (14–17 ten-thousand koku), this museum in Tsuruoka preserves swords, armor, and artifacts of one of the Tokugawa shogunate's most trusted fudai daimyo families. The collection includes Important Cultural Property armor and weapons received from the Tokugawa shogunal house, alongside works by local Dewa swordsmiths. Multiple nationally designated historic buildings on the 28,000 sqm grounds make this a unique open-air museum experience.
