Kogarasu Maru (Imperial Sword)
Kogarasu Maru ('Little Crow') is one of Japan's oldest surviving swords, traditionally associated with the Taira (Heike) clan. Dating to the Heian period, it represents the transitional form between the straight ancient sword and the fully curved tachi, with a distinctive double-edged point section. It is now in the Imperial Household collection and stands as a direct material link to the world depicted in The Tale of the Heike.
