Overview
Founded on the collection of industrialist Sano Ryūichi, this museum houses an excellent collection of Japanese swords, with particularly acclaimed kotō pieces from the Heian and Kamakura periods. Regular sword-focused exhibitions attract enthusiasts from across Japan. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful Ryūsen-en garden on the grounds. Conveniently accessible from Mishima Station on the Tōkaidō Shinkansen, making it an easy visit even from distant cities.
