福岡城(舞鶴城)
Fukuoka Castle (Maizuru Castle)
Überblick
Fukuoka Castle was built in 1601 by Kuroda Nagamasa, who received the 520,000-koku domain of Chikuzen after his contributions at the Battle of Sekigahara. His father Kuroda Kanbei (Josui) was one of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's most brilliant strategists. The castle enshrines one of the most famous swords in Japanese history — Heshikiri Hasebe — which was given to Kanbei by Oda Nobunaga. The blade earned its name from a legend that Nobunaga used it to cut down a disobedient servant hiding under a shelf. Today, Heshikiri Hasebe is housed in the Fukuoka City Museum, one of the most treasured exhibits in all of Kyushu. The castle ruins form the scenic Maizuru Park, famed for cherry blossoms.
Verbindung zu Schwertern
Fukuoka Castle's supreme sword legacy is Heshikiri Hasebe, a National Treasure now housed in the Fukuoka City Museum. Forged by Hasebe Kunishige in the Nanbokuchō period, the blade earned its legendary name when Oda Nobunaga used it to 'push-cut' (heshi-kiru) through a shelf to kill a disobedient attendant hiding beneath it. Nobunaga presented the blade to the brilliant strategist Kuroda Kanbei around 1577, and it has been a Kuroda family heirloom ever since. The Chikuzen region also produced the great Nanbokuchō swordsmith Samonji (Sa), whose work influenced both Sōshū-den and Bizen-den traditions and was eagerly collected by daimyō including Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
