Miyairi Shōhei

Description

Designated Living National Treasure (Important Intangible Cultural Property Holder), a titan of modern swordmaking. From Sakaki in Shinshū, he devoted his life to reproducing the Sōshū tradition. Scientifically studied Masamune's techniques and became the foremost authority on modern Sōshū revival. Trained many disciples and became a guiding figure for modern swordsmiths.
