Osafune Kanemitsu

Description

Leader of the Osafune school during the Nanbokuchō period. His grand form and flamboyant chōji-midare represent the pinnacle of Bizen tradition. Created magnificent ōdachi and ō-wakizashi characteristic of the era, with some works showing Sōshū-influenced hitatsura. Regarded as the completer of the Bizen tradition.
