Sōshū-denKotō (Old Swords)Saijōsaku
郷義弘
Gō Yoshihiro
Description
One of the 'Three Greatest Smiths' alongside Masamune and Yoshimitsu, and considered the foremost of Masamune's Ten Pupils. Active in Etchū province (present-day Toyama), he died young, leaving no signed works. So rare that the saying goes: 'No one has ever seen a Gō or a ghost.' All attributions are by expert appraisal of his distinctive bold matsukawa-hada and brilliant hamon.
