Description
Father of shinshintō and advocate of the fukkotō (revival sword) movement. Argued for reviving kotō techniques that had declined during the shintō era, training many disciples to rejuvenate Japanese swordmaking. Both theorist and practitioner, his 'Tōken Jitsuyōron' is a landmark text. Trained great students including Taikei Naotane and Minamoto Kiyomaro.
