Ueda City Museum (Ueda Castle Ruins Park)
Überblick
Located within the ruins of Ueda Castle, built by the legendary Sanada Masayuki who twice repelled Tokugawa forces. The museum holds swords, armor, and relics of the Sanada clan including pieces associated with Sanada Yukimura (Nobushige), acclaimed as 'Japan's finest warrior.' The collection also covers later Ueda domain history under the Sengoku and Matsudaira clans. The castle ruins with surviving turrets are a cherry-blossom viewing hotspot.
