Kasuga Taisha Museum
Überblick
The treasure hall of Kasuga Taisha, a UNESCO World Heritage shrine, housing 352 National Treasures and 971 Important Cultural Properties dedicated to the shrine. Reopened in 2016 following the 60th periodic rebuilding ceremony. The sword collection includes the National Treasure kinchi raden kenukigata tachi and numerous Heian-period tachi and dedicatory swords. The splendid tachi mountings reflecting court culture are a highlight, offering deep insight into the connection between swords and prayer.
